Mobility India was established in Bangalore in 1994 to enable organised work in the field of rehabilitation for those with locomotor disabilities, especially in rural areas, through awareness creation, advocacy, research and development and improved services.

Mobility India supports twenty-one grassroots organisations by establishing and upgrading orthopaedic workshops for them. The ultimate aim is to promote integration of people with disabilities into society by making and fitting affordable aids. The organisations Rehabilitation, Research, and Training Centre (MIRRTC), also referred to as the 'Millennium Building on Disability' is a state of the art disabled-friendly building with various accessibility features. MIRRTC provides direct service to the disabled through callipers, artificial limbs, and rehabilitation therapy as well as research in developing innovative models of orthosis, prosthesis, mobility devices, and their components.

The organisation also promotes mobility in persons with disability in rural areas through awareness creation, advocacy, research, and development.

Annual programme budget: Rs.206 Lakh.

Mobility India is a registered society (343/94-95) and all donations are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
