Established in 1991, NDS is the vision of development professionals committed to increasing community self-reliance among slum clusters in NOIDA and Okhla Industrial Area.
NDS supports community education and mobilisation through varied programme interventions aimed at the girl child and women living in underprivileged circumstances. Some of its activities are:
- establishment of pre-primary, non-formal, and remedial education centres for both children and women
- awareness programmes on family planning and community health
- formation of Mahila Panchyats and vocational training programmes for women
- AIDS awareness and referral.
Annual programme budget: Rs. 8 Lakh.
Navjyoti Development Society is registered society (S/21816) and all donations are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
