Structuring of NGOs and Foundations

Using a variety of resources, CATALYST assists in the establishment of partnerships with grassroots-level organisations and the not-for-profit sector ; it also helps to set up and structure India chapters of US based foundations and charitable organisations such as United Way International, The Asia Foundation, The Hope Project, Digital Partners and so on. Structuring includes:

o Identifying as well as enlisting corporate and NGO leaders and professionals on Governing Boards
o Establishing standards of transparency in governance and decision-making
o Assessing sustainability and projections for growth
o Feasibility and scoping studies for donors interested in setting up institutions, vocational training centres, resource and information centres on Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy
o Identifing delivery mechanisms and strategising for achievement of ascribed goals
o Building partnerships with bi-lateral donors for capacity-building

Evaluation of Projects, Programmes and Organisations

CATALYST evaluates projects, programmes and organisations keeping in mind the principles of:

o Good governance and democratic decision-making
o Achievement of goals and outputs
o Capacity Building including training in specific areas such as change management
o Capacity to network and consolidate gains and advantages

Research and Publications

As the building of networks, institutions and databases require focussed information and analysis, CATALYSTcarries out research on:

o Corporate Social Responsibility
o Philanthropy
o The Indian Diaspora and its commitment to funding development projects
o Areas for funding : Education, Women's Development issues, Strategies for Income Generation, the Digital Divide

Philanthropic Giving Patterns of NRIs in the Middle East, Far East, UK & USA

Other Activities

o Manages international conferences and events for the donor and not-for-profit sector;
o Provides Social Auditing, legal and financial advice; and
o Co-ordinates selective Executive Search for INGOs and NGOs.
