Bill AdamsBill Adams was born in England, and educated in the UK at the Universities of Oxford, Essex, and Leeds. He is a Personal Management Skills Trainer with graduate and post graduate qualifications in Social Policy and Social Change, Social Sciences (Social Psychology. Industrial Sociology) and Education (Post Grad). He is a UK qualified teacher of Behavioural Studies and Communications. . He has managed innovative NGO's and taught at various Universities in the UK. He has also worked for (amongst others), the UK Civil Service , Phillips TV, Birds Eye Foods (Unilever), Suffolk Police Constabulary, and Marks & Spencer Ltd, in the UK For seven years he lectured in Behavioural Sciences and Communications. He set up and/or taught various Behavioural and Communication courses., First at Barnsley College of Technology, (Now the University of Barnsley), later at Huddersfield Polytechnic, (now the University of Huddersfield), and at Leeds Polytechnic, (now the Leeds Metropolitan University). For three years he was visiting faculty at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, (NIFT). Since 1981 he has been a corporate trainer. In India his Corporate Clients have included Hewlett Packard, HCL Computers , Indian Quotation Systems Pvt Ltd., Software Operation Pvt Ltd, Bridge, Parasrampuria, and TERI. He has run training courses for School Principals, School Managers, Teachers, and Counsellors. He is a Director of Catalyst Social Development Consultants Pvt. Limited Bill has written scripts for the BBC and copy for numerous prestigious clients. He has compered professional entertainments and has acted in a TV mini series. (He turned down a part in Lagaan!) Also, from time to time he can be heard voicing TV and Radio advertisements. He has written three critically acclaimed plays for children, and articles on education and soccer for UK and Indian Newspapers. He is the author of an International best selling book, "The Five Lessons of Life" (About the philosophy of the Amchi), which has been published in the USA, Canada, India, , Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, and Europe (UK, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Holland) by Random House, UK. Ltd. He has contributed a the large section on 'soccer and education in India' to a book entitled; "Indian Soccer: Past Present and Future" which was published by Frank Cass in the UK in October 2001His next book for Random House (to be published in 2002) is entitled "The Tao of Soccer". It shows how soccer can be used to teach children (and parents) the principles of ancient philosophy. . He has had many articles published on the need for modernisation in Indian Physical Education. Bill is a founder member of the India Youth Soccer Association, and is it's Technical Director. He is Director of coaching at the Super Soccer Academy which provides coaching for over 240 children each week here in Delhi. |
