Located in the narrow by-lanes of old Delhi stands a magnificent 76-year-old heritage building treating everyone with the same quality of care. Dr Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), which combines old-world charm with technological advancement, has a long tradition of eye and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care: since 1927, a team of skilled medical personnel using state-of-the-art equipment has treated over four million patients.
In recent years, SCEH has:
- been selected by Orbis International, an international NGO devoted to eye care, as its local partner
- established a paediatric ophthalmology department, one of the few in north India
- started an outreach programme in Alwar, Rajasthan where patients requiring surgery are brought by the SCEH bus to the main hospital in Delhi, and then returned to their homes post-surgery
Annual programme budget: Rs. 414 Lakh.
Dr Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital is a registered charitable trust (119) and all donations are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
