Focus: HIV/AIDS and human rights support.
Established in 1994, AAG's mission is to contribute towards minimising human suffering among vulnerable groups in the fields of health, HIV/AIDS, and domestic violence. The organisation also supports human rights issues within the prison establishment.
Through awareness programmes, treatment, referrals, and counselling, AAG has effectively enhanced opportunities for individuals suffering from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS. In the brothels of GB Road, AAG's awareness programmes cover sex workers, their children, and the male population visiting these brothels.
In Tihar jail - Asia's largest prison complex - AAG provides advocacy, awareness, support, and free legal aid. From conducting sensitisation training on HIV/AIDS and human rights for prison staff, to provision of legal representation for conflict resolution within families and the community, the organisation aims at facilitating a generation of options for crisis management and intervention.
Annual programme budget: Rs. 31 Lakh.
