Registered in March 1989, Sai Kripa's primary concern is to provide less fortunate children with a caring and nurturing home. Today the institution offers a number of programmes and facilities for the development of underprivileged children.
The organisation runs Bal Kutir, a shelter for homeless and orphaned children - this offers education and healthcare facilities and seeks to create an environment conducive to growth. Sai Shiksha Sansthan, the school for the children of Vazidpur and surrounding villages, started with 80 students, with classes up to Class 2; today the school has 400 children with 21 teachers and six support staff. It also extends its facilities to some of the children at Bal Kutir.
Sai Bal Sansar is a programme for street children in NOIDA. The main purpose of this programme is to integrate street/working children in a formalised educational setting. Currently the school holds classes up to Class 3. A total of 125 students are part of this programme. Other programme activities include provision of library facilities for the students of Bal Kutir and a tailoring unit.
Annual programme budget: Rs. 20 Lakh.
Sai Kripa is a registered society (640) and all donations are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
